LGBT Affirmative Counselling
Working closely with the LGBT community both as an activist and as a helping professional has equipped me with various skills in LGBT affirmative counselling as well as allowed me different training in this area. LGBT affirmative counselling aims in validating the identity of the person and working together with the client in order to offer a safe space for exploration.
Soft Skills Training
Soft skills are non-technical skills that are used in our interaction with others. Unlike hard skills, they're not necessarily something you'll learn in a course. Instead, they reflect your communication style, work ethic, and work style. I have experience in delivering workshops and training varying from a Pair to a group of 100 participants. Mapping out together what your needs are, as well as your aims and goals for this could lead us to a understand better what kind of skills you would like to enhance. Counselling & Psychotherapy
Having studied Integrative Counselling I have had experience working with both adults and children. Psychotherapy is a space where the client can come with various reasons in need of discussion from relational problems, to attention, to anxiety or depression. Whatever is currently weighing on you, we will explore it together and I will ask questions in a way we can understand where it is coming from, how you feel about it, and if you would like to do something about it.
My Approach

My Approach
Whilst I have had training in integrative counselling, equipping me with different approaches, skills and schools of taught I believe client-centred therapy has been a great influence in my approach. The reason being is that I believe that the client is best able to decide what to explore and how. It is my belief that the client is the expert of their own life, and in the therapy room we are simply opening up perspectives, assumptions, patterns and emotions and exploring them together. It is in my belief that the basis of this approach also deals with our own self-identity which I believe is central in our journey of life. It is also in my belief that no matter what is currently impacting your life, its brings us back to who you are, how you talk to yourself, what are the things you consider strengths and what are things you consider weakness, how you act with yourself and what are your beliefs about yourself. I also believe that the way we relate and interact with ourselves, mirrors in our relationships and therefore in our own journey of self-discovery and growth we can identify which are the relationships you would like to continue growing in and what shape and form you would like to give them .

I have a non-directive approach to talk therapy and I believe that if you choose to start this journey together, then we will both learn from each other. I believe in being genuine towards every single client and being my authentic self helping to build a therapeutic relationship that is safe for you to achieve your own goals, whilst offering a space for growth and healing.

Ultimately, I believe in the power of self-acceptance. It is only when we truly learn to accept ourselves fully, with our flaws, accepting and recognising both our strengths and our mistakes that we can truly give space for growth and change to happen.
